How do different kinds of lipids affect the development, health and disease in vertebrates?

Diet lipids have both negative and positive effects on vertebrate health status. A mini-symposium called “Lipids in a developmental perspective” will be held in Bergen in November 2010. The symposium is arranged by NIFES and Lipidforum.

Essential fatty acids affect the health status through the entire life cycle, in particular during the developmental stages. New and established knowledge on the importance of essential fatty acids on health and disease, with emphasis on development in vertebrates, will be presented. Several top researchers have been invited to give key notes.
